Day 42

Today was great!  Beautiful weather, great water and as always wonderful company.  This morning however was odd.  When we  awoke our world was blanketed in a thick veil of fog.  It was like paddling in a cloud and as magical an experience as I have ever had.  The for was son thick I could barely see Amanda.  I wished for a barge to slowly emerge from the fog like a steel ghost, but it never came.  After paddling in these conditions for about an hour the fun faded away to disorientation.  In time though the fog lifted and it was another hot fall day.  That was really the long and short of it for today.  We were going to paddle 40 miles today which would have been our longest.  However due to the river opening up into a large lake, the likes of which are notorious for not having any good camping islands. Instead we set up on a nice large sandbar after paddling 36 lovely miles.
